  3. Missed it too. I was up at three-thirty, but was chundering into a toilet bowl rather than looking at the sunrise. Nice photo indeed.

  4. Impressive (the fact that you can actually get up in the middle of the night AND the picture). Where did you take that?

  12. Superb photo - never seen anything like that on the (very) rare occasions when I have been up at that sort of time! Or perhaps me eyelids were glued together..

  13. Sweavo appears to be channeling the spirit of my grandad. The day after midsummer each year he would suck air through his teeth (in the style of a mechanic about to say “its gonna be pricey luv”) and announce “the nights’ll be drawing in now”.
He meant it seriously, and was so predictable that my mum would dread him saying it for a week beforehand. It made me laugh though.

  14. Are you in The Cloud Appreciation Society? If not, why not?

  15. No.

I can appreciate clouds without being a member of the society and I’m not generally a joiner.

  16. No, you’re not a joiner. You’re not even a proper carpenter.

Anyway, lovely pic. Somehow it infected me with the earworm ‘Guadete’, which is about 6 months early/late but a jolly good choon nonetheless.
