One Hat Wonders

You know the 25 Smiles project I embarked on a short while ago? You do? Good. Well, browsing around the pbase galleries over the weekend, I found a vaguely similar project - only the photographer got people to wear a hat he supplied. Oh, and the people he met were mostly rather famous.

Personally, I prefer your shots. His are just too posed, and taken in a studio. Yours are much more natural and spur-of-the-moment.

Yours is better. What’s the point in taking photographs of people whose job it is to get photographed all the time, who put up posters of themselves everywhere, and to get on telly so everyone know what they look like. The gap in the documentary evidence is in the faces of the audience, and the people watching the telly.

I’m going to be a horror and say that I like both sets of pictures.
Stu’s set is a nice selection of people and has it’s own merits, but I also like the famous people.
It’s great so see how they react to such a weird hat outside of their prescribed roles. You get a nice bit of personality shining through instead of their usual televisual personas.
