I get the impression the list maker lives in a shack squatting the corner of a paddock on the side of a rollng hillside, and the s.roll, which the list maker shares with the dog, is the treat of the week.

How utterly sad that they only managed to get the milk before losing the list. It’s going to be a long and hungry week. The cat’ll be ok though.

Imagine getting to the shop and wondering “Damn it, did I mean Sausage roll or Spring Roll or Salmon Roll……..”

I like to think, Rich, that they’re one of those people who doesn’t cross stuff off their list as they go, but had decided to have a cup of tea before going out, so they had to nip to the corner shop for some milk and therefore crossed it out before they ever left the house on their ‘proper’ shopping trip.
And then they used the last tea bag which is why tea is written with the same pen as milk is crossed out with.

Maybe they met a cow on the way to the shops and no longer required milk

Personally, I think that they ran out of milk while making the cup of tea which was being drunk during the list-writing, then having completed their list checked the fridge to see if they’d forgotton anything, and discovered that extra pint tucked away behind the margarine.
They then checked the cupboard where the box of tea bags is kept (before being transferred to the tin in which they usually take them during the tea making process) and thus adding tea in the same pen.
wow, I really thought too much about that…

Perhaps the wife made the list initally (first four items) for the husband, but she doesn’t drink tea so didn’t know that they needed some.
The cat got hold of the list and added Fish. Hence that is written in a different pen. Something that everyone else seems to have not noticed. Also isn’t that a cat paw print next to the work Fish.
The husband got home from work. Knowing they were short of milk he stopped off on the way home and bought some, as he always had a cuppa when he gets in. On making his cup of tea he realised that he was using the last tea bag. So when he received the list he crossed off milk and added tea.

But they’re all in the same handwriting, Mr. H. If I was pressed to identify one which wasn’t written by the same person, I’ve have Ham - it doesn’t have any of those characteristic ‘ticks’ at the ends of lines, most promimently seen on the initial letters of Fish and Tea, and also the final ‘d’ on Bread.
Now, I think Henry is _really_ on to something… is there a global conspiracy against milk? Or maybe on the last list, it was just deleted because it already appeared higher up.

Well there is an advert on TV at the moment stating that a certain brand of milk is so good that the cows want it back…. maybe that has something to do with it…
