Haha!
Friday 10th November
Look! A goat in a bucket tub!
And for any photographers out there, the site I got the picture from (right here) has an excellent, good value, royalty-free picture purchasing mechanism. I think I might be picking up some hints from it.
You seem to have found my level. What a pretty picture.

I think you may have sparked a debate on when a bucket becomes a bowl. Or is the rest of the “bucket” buried?

According to the American Heritage Dictionary, a bucket is cylindrical while a bowl is hemispherical. Due to the lack of compound curves on this particular goat receptacle, I have to conclude it is a bucket.
Oi… are you trying to sabotage my plan to avoid geekiness?

I don’t care if it’s a bucket or a bowl. It’s a goat, and it’s standing in something. The equation works like this:-
GOOFY GOAT+RECEPTACLE+CAMERA=FUNNY

Exactly.

Then it’s neither a bucket nor a bowl because it is neither hemispherical nor cylindrical, being more conical in shape.
It is a goat though.

I think in English that’s definitely a bowl.
However, it is simultaneously
a) a goat
b) funny
c) non-geeky
Excellent!

It must be a bowl, there’e no visible handle.
However, it just doesnt sound the same
(Oh god, I’ve spent some time actually thinking about buckets and bowls. *runs away muttering)

The goat appears to be laughing, maybe it knows something we don’t like the bowl is full of someone’s drinking water

Only on the end of its nose, the top of its head and that patch on its side. The rest is quite dark.

I reckon it’s too big to be a bowl. I forward the motion to call it a ‘tub’.
But that might lead to tubgoat, and you know where that leads… (if you don’t, then don’t research it)

It’s a confused goat. Someone put it in the tub and told it to stand in the corner!

if the goat was in…
” a large cask (especially one holding a volume equivalent to 2 hogsheads or 126 gallons)”
you could say it was in a ‘butt’.
but it isn’t. so you can’t.
but if you could it would be funny.
