  1. I was scared before the video had finished buffering… as it turns out, for all the right reasons…

  8. Oooo intense.

    Hopefully in the next episode she will teach us to say “goat” in japanese.

    Has anybody got the contact number for Ichi? I’d really like to introduce the two of them.

  9. Intense??? Sushi, Cat and Apple Intense. Like I wasn’t to say Sushi, Cat and Apple if I go to Japan. Where’s Beer, Food, Toilet & Hotel? (Probably in that order if I eat Sushi!)

  10. Heh… they’re mostly easy words, UKCodeMonkey

    Beer = ビール bīru
    Toilet = トイレ toire
    Hotel = ホテル hoteru

    Food is the only one of these not borrowed from English:

    Food = ご飯 gohan (literally ‘honourable rice’)

  12. Guess what, rollasoc… I’m wearing that tshirt RIGHT NOW :)

    Oh, and ‘goat’ is ヤギ (yagi)

    “Where are the goats?” is:

    ヤギはどこにいますか? yagi wa, doko ni imasuka?

  13. Incidentally, the phrases she says in Japanese are:

    りんご - ringo - apple
    わたしは今日りんごを食べました - watashi wa kyō, ringo o tabemashita - today I ate an apple

    猫 - neko - cat
    あの猫はりんごをたべました - ano neko wa, ringo o tabemashita - that cat [just] ate an apple

    すし - sushi - sushi
    今日わたしはすしを食べました - kyō, watashi wa sushi o tabemashita - today I ate sushi

  14. kyō, watashi wa ano neko tabemashita - today I just ate that cat?

  15. Very close, Rich!

    You forgot the ‘object marker’ after cat…

    kyō, watashi wa ano neko o tabemashita

  16. Darn - those object markers always catch me out.

  17. Although ‘ano’ is a ‘that’ as in ‘that over there’ rather than a reference to a previously mentioned object. So unless you had vomited and walked some distance from the pile of vomit, and the cat was clearly identifiable in the vomit, the phrase wouldn’t really work.

    Maybe if there was a picture of the cat over there.

  18. Well wouldn’t you vomit if you’d just eaten a cat?
