2. Romania got my vote.

   The voting was farcical. Ok so the UK son was a pile of pants but there were songs that were piles of pantser. Weshould withdraw our funding of this joke of a competition next year and go off in a sulk.

5. Are there rules against getting a proper, previously proven band to perform the the contest? I know there is a certain amount of kitsch value, but seriously, wouldn’t it be nice to see battle of Europe’s top acts, rather than either wholly manufactured pop acts, or reformed failed pop acts. But then maybe that would mean the Manic Street Preachers (as if they would) doing slightly better than Scooch, which just wouldn’t do.

6. Romania were FULL OF WIN. The Ukraine entry scared me a little bit, France were hilarious, and Ireland were by far the worst (but quite lively when that woman stopped singing)

7. the UK entry was in a class of awfulness all of it’s own.

8. I didn’t watch it myself, but the Danish media (tabloids at least) are apparently enraged because of an “eastern european mafia” that has it fixed. I guess all eastern european countries were voting for themselves or something? I would find it more interesting if it was a real mafia. Some booze and prostitutes and funny hats, that’d be neat.

11. I spent the evening sawing off my leg with a wooden spoon so I was unable to watch…

    Presumably ireland were so pants because they wanted to be sure of not having to host it again, to be sure.
