Simply Stu Your Goat, Right Away

Hype

Monday 25th June

He’s right. I was reading over at Plume’s blog that the MTV 2007 Movie Awards had a category for Best Summer Movie You Haven’t Seen Yet, won by Transformers. I didn’t quite believe it, so went to check out the MTV site.

Yes… there it is.

I thought films had to be, well, you know… released and seen by people and critically acclaimed before winning awards. Not any more, it seems.

I wonder how many used tenners they slipped the producers under the table for that one. As Public Enemy said… “Don’t believe the hype!”

  2. You didn’t see the show right? It was completely Transformer themed. At the preshow they were on the red carpet with big Transformer cars. Asking all the celebs “so are you looking forward to the new Transformers movie?”. It was nuts. And kind of embarrassing when the director accepted the award. “Wow I just finished editing this 3 hours ago and it’s already won its first award”. Yeah buddy.
Personally I’d pick The Simpsons Movie for best summer movie I haven’t seen. It’s much better than all the rest of the movies I haven’t seen. No contest.

  3. There is a certain company that I won’t mention, but Stu should know who it is, who won an award for some software that was never released (at least not in the format it won the award in).

At least Transformers looks to be released this summer.

  4. Haha… oh yes… I remember that.
