Dammit
Wednesday 8th August
I was hoping to go back to work on Monday, but the doctor, she say no. But I do get to go from Thursday 16th. Hurrah!
In other news - do you know how hard it is to buy a hoola hoop that doesn’t rattle or flash or do some other gimmicky thing? It’s quite hard, yes it is. I shall continue to search…
Yay! for being signed off.
I like the marmite ones.

Morty has a non-rattling non-flashing hoop in the shed. However it has been wedged in there so long it is now oval rather than circular. If you need a new challenge it’s yours.

Eh? What? I seem to have missed something here. Hope the break has done you good / hope you’re feeling better (please delete as appropriate) and as for going back to work on my birthday…!! Still hoping to come on the 18th?

I used to like to get a mouth full of hula hoops and swig a cuppa tea down before crunching them. Can’t help on the other sort.
How about mugging a clown with an oversized waste and braces? He’s bound to have one sowed into his comedy trousers

Or have I missed the point here?

hmm, let me get this straight, you are looking for a hula hoop that is - uh - serious?

Never mind the hula hoop, I’m astonished there is someone who is disappointed not to be able to go to work and is looking forward to going back.
Is that why you are signed off Stu - because you are delirious?

Maybe you should try a site or store that also supplies to professionals, like http://www.juggleart.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=789&cPath=152

Plume: Stu, there’s four places. There’s the Hoola Hoop Hut,
that’s on third.
Stu: Uh-huh.
Plume: There’s Hoola-Hoops-R-Us, that’s on third too. You got
Put-Your-Hoola-Hoop-There?
Stu: Mm-Hmm.
Plume: That’s on third. Swing Low, Sweet Hoola Hoop… Matter of fact,
they’re all in the same complex; it’s the Hoola Hoop complex on
third.
Stu: Oh, the Hoola Hoop district.
Plume: That’s right.
Ahh, I tried.

Is this a hula-hoop related illness? Are you are circus clown in your “other life”? I’ve seen the unicycle video . . . mmmm . . . sudden interest in hula-hoops, unicycles, do you wear big multi-colored baggy trousers and big shoes and have a red nose?

Debster, I thought that yesterday, I’m sure he can probably juggle as well.
I once saw him fall over and at the same moment, I heard the sound of a trombone. Spooky.
Bits keep falling off his car.
And I once saw him attempt to rescue a baby from a burning building, but he fell off the ladder, through a paper hoop and into a randomly placed big tub of water.
It is all now starting to make sense.
Could this be Stu and why he wants to get back to work so soon.

Do you want the hoop for hulaing or for spinning around the floor? If it’s the later you might want to try a bicycle wheel with the spokes taken out.
Otherwise, come to Crawley juggling convention this weekend, there’s bound to be one of the traders selling hoops (as does MushyPea Steve, who is probably closer to you).

The C word, eh? Don’t forget about Dingle Fingle.

Although worryingly his site seems to not exist any more. Alas poor Dingle Fingle.

Yes Stu, I know the feeling. I’ve told Plume I dislike clowns. They are bizarre in a bad sort of way. Did you have to have “clown therapy” in order to lead a more normal life?

Er… right… lots of replies, I’ll try to piece something together…
Yes. Hoop. Doesn’t need to be serious, but don’t want to draw undue attention. For hoola-ing. Assumed I could buy locally not online, will find somewhere not totally locally but not online like Mushy Pea probably. Dingle Fingle = Clown = Evil. No clown therapy required, but still don’t like them… well, don’t like the “if I put on funny clothes it will _make_ me funny” sort… like the “funny anyway, and funny clothes can optionally enhance that” sort. Goat unicorns - just wrong. Work, yes I like work - not delirious.
