There’s Something About Gloucestershire

Monday 17th September

First was the cheese rolling… now I bring you, thanks to YouTube…

The Bourton-on-the-Water 2007 Football In The River match, played each year in front of 1000 or so spectators in the River Windrush.

I’d say “there must be something in the water”, but it’s clear that there are a load of footballers, two goals and a referee.

  1. Well, you see, that could have been fun to watch, but all I saw were a bunch of blokes just as badly behaved as their grass-pals. What’s with all that pushing and shoving? And when they loose the ball they behave like moody 6-year-olds. Football attitude is rubbish, sorry guys, but it just is.

  2. I think the pushing and shoving was part of the fun. Especially splashing each other to start with. Note they all play for the same team normally :)

  4. *sigh*

I bet they don’t do anything that bonkers in Sugar Land. Great link Stu, I’ve bookmarked that one for when I feel homesick.

Sweavo - I know a great house that’s just become available to rent :p
