The Story
Wednesday 28th November
It’s something like… H is away and I said I’d be at a loose end, so I’d probably learn to hula hoop. Of course, having said that, I had to follow through - I do tend to mean what I say. But the hula hoop I bought in Dartmoor was a kid-sized hoop and that doesn’t work, so I had to make my own, so I bought the bits on Monday night and made it on Tuesday night, although it’s falling apart a bit now because I couldn’t get the right sort of pipe joiners that I needed so it uses good ol’ gaffer tape.
The Wizard of Oz thing is because someone asked when I’d last seen the Wizard of Oz and I said that it was a couple of months ago (although I saw The Wiz more recently), but then she said that’s good because she thought I might say I’d never heard of it like when she asked something about Peanut Butter Jelly sandwiches and I said I’d never had one.
So I thought I’d combine all three. I think that’s reasonable.
Multi-tasking, yay!

Yeah… and I’m a man. Amazing, huh?

ah but men CAN multitask spacial things, like footy, driving, hulaing and eating. It’s just the incessant gibbering of^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H verbal side that is more challenging.

Wow! Something I have done before Stu: eaten peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and hula-hooped. I’ve done both as a child, well . . . not at the same time, but one after another. And I watched the Wizard of Oz thirteeen straight years in a row as a kid.

Yes jam. But “Peanut Butter and Jam” doesn’t sound right because it’s such an American invention that I think the American word has to be used.
But that’s just me.

Apricot preserves!
Stu, I hope you realize I’m just teasing you about “things I have done before Stu” has. You do so many amazing things (like the juggling, hiking, photo taking, piano playing, etc.) that are just way, way beyond my reach.
You are very inspiring the way you take on new things and just do them. Makes me realize if I want to do something different, now is the time to try it and not to wait for some vague time in the future.
PS: My husband and I met a man from England (of all places) at our local WalMart store today. I hope we didn’t put him off when we asked what brought him shopping to the Midwest! (It was work-related). We are just so “darn friendly” here to everyone that I get the feeling I may come off as being “too forward”. Sorry if that has happened here before. Don’t want to be know as “that pushy American gal”!

Hehe… yes, Debster… nothing wrong with having done things before me
And don’t worry about seeming forward - it’s very refreshing, I don’t think you’re pushy at all
