Party!

Monday 17th December

The work’s christmas party on Friday night was excellent, though we might have had a glass or two too many of the old pop.

On another note - related or unrelated, I’ll let you decide - anyone know how to get sick out of a bedroom carpet?

  3. Vomit Stains On Carpet

Use a spoon to remove as much of the vomit stain as possible.

Pour club soda or cold water onto the vomit stain. Let it stand for 30 seconds.

Blot the vomit stain with a clean dry cloth, soaking up the stain. Replace the cloth as it becomes wet.

Repeat until no more vomit stain will come up.

Treat the area with a carpet spot stain remover according to its directions. Look for a carpet stain remover with enzymes. Many stain removers for pet carpet stains will be a good choice.

  4. Vomit all over the rest of the carpet to make the effect uniform, thus disguising it.

  12. My top recommendation would be a wonderful substance called ‘Simple Solution’. You can get it in Pets at Home - it’s designed to remove wee, poo, vom, blood etc from your carpets when your pet has an accident - but it works just as well on human accidents. I used it after a girl of mine gave birth on our cream(!) carpets and there were blood stains, and for when our kittens have accidents.

  13. Wow, this is proving to be an interesting topic, Stu. Was there any juggling involved? Me thinks you need three buckets by the bed!

Loretta: you seem ready for any accident that life might decide to spring on you!

  14. chrisb: I’ve said that I won’t drop her in it by saying who it was. So I’m not telling.

And the carpet is clean now! Hurrah! I can’t remember the exact sequence, but I think brillo pads, a flame thrower, and a bit of bicarbonate of soda were involved.

  16. I would suggest scraping up as much of the cold vomit as possible using a plastic spatula oe fish slice from the kitchen.
Scrub the affected area with a solution of bicarcb and leave to dry for a few days and then give it a squirt of Febreze.
When the carpet is completely dry it will be the January sales and you can go and buy a nice bedside rug.
