Room Layout
Tuesday 29th January
Some rooms fall naturally into place while others have silly little nooks and crannies, radiators, fireplaces and so on.
What I want is a website where you select your basic room size and shape, any obstacles (fireplace, window, radiator, doors), and features to include (three-seater, armchair, tv and bookshelves) - then it shows you a bunch of real-world examples of how people have laid out their room in plan form.
That’s what I want. Yes I do.
I agree - And wall radiators should be banned - they just get in the way… We’ve got a couple of rooms in the house where we can’t have the rads on cause they’ve got furniture in front of them (four inches away from the wall!!) …
Oh and bay windows… they need to be banned to… what are you supposed to fit in there? IKEA don’t do a bendy flexy sofa!

Damn you.
Damn you for putting that idea in my head.
Now it is rolling around, getting a little feature creeped, and generally making me work out different ways it could be implemented, without actually doing so.
I’m going to be making notes on this in meetings for the next three days you BASTARD.

Sort of a virtual Barbie and Ken doll playhouse? That would be cool. Barbie would want everything pink and Ken would go for camo green!

I’m thinking radiator covers with integral bookshelves are the way forward

This is not what you are talking about, but might help http://mydeco.com/rooms/viewed/#most_viewed
Charlie Hull (juggler) made the search engine behind it
