Party
Tuesday 19th February
I had a birthday party and H had a house-warming party and it was the same party so that was good and it was very nice and lots of nice people came and we had a lot of fun and didn’t need to play games like scrabble and monopoly and chess and cards and cranium and things because everyone got on very well and chatted and played the piano and sang and threw paper aeroplanes around and ate really really nice cake which H made and blancmange and jelly except they didn’t eat it for ages and then someone pointed out that maybe if there were any bowls and spoons maybe they would eat it then and they drank salmiakki vodka and beer and cider and lots and lots and lots and lots of wine and things like that and nobody invited 2000 people off myspace and so no-one trashed the house and so it wasn’t very hard to clean and it was lovely to see lots of happy people and we love you all and baklawa is a difficult word to spell.
Anyone know how to get paper aeroplanes out of absolutely everywhere? We’re still finding them.
I had a similar party where I kept finding bottles of beer hidden around the house… It would seem one of my guests decided there wasn’t enough beer to go round, so he decided to hide bottles all over the place, so he’d have his own stash…. tit.

Did you ever find the one that “surely cannot fly” but actually flies the best? I suspect it was plane-napped by someone who wanted to reproduce the design in the quiet of their own shed.
Amazingly, Monday’s plane was the start of the repetition of designs, so you almost had one of every design in existence! I’m currently building a new air force at home.

We found it on the night, but I haven’t found it since.
You are right, it looked completely ridiculous but was definitely the best flier.

Thanks for inviting me and C, we both enjoyed the food/drink and especially the company!
Those circle planes were amazing, they went the furthest off all!
Mel appeared not to like me though, I was getting hit on the head a lot with planes she threw; I’ll have to ask what I’ve done wrong.

Brilliant party! You know a lot of nice people
Ah, yeah, on the note of salmiakki vodka….did you get the salmiakki from Finland last time? Can you get it in the UK? And if not, can you bring me a bag from your little holiday, so I can make some such vodka, because that was just absolutely lovely stuffs that was!

I shall be bringing a shedload of bags back, Kika. You’ll be welcome to have one
(it’s available in Sweden too… the current lot came from last summer’s trip)

I think it can be got in IKEA under the name Saltsill or something
oo yes http://www.wardi.dk/2007/09/ikea-liquorice.html that’s it
I think it might be a bit milder than the finnish stuff, but still with a pleasing licking-a-9-volt-battery sensation

Ah… that stuff is slightly different… it’s jelly rather than boiled sweet, and I don’t think contains pepper.
The ‘official’ stuff to use is Tyrkisk Peber. They’re like boiled sweets with salmiak and pepper powder in a hollow centre.

Were any goats invited? Well if the place wasn’t trashed then my guess is that there were no goats. But you never know. Happy birthday in any case.
