TRY TO AVOID TRAVEL VIA HEATHROW ON THURSDAY MARCH 27TH
While the new systems at Terminal 5 have been tested extensively, we recommend avoiding any travel through Heathrow on Thursday 27th March. Unfamiliarity with the systems coupled with new security measures will most likely cause long delays for passengers. As with any new venture, teething problems are always present and there is a strong risk of mischief on the opening day.

Ok… the second one was a lie, but it should have happened.
The terminal is built over the top of the high tec baggage handling system. The sound of the band playing could be heard as it went down like the titanic

This is actually why I don’t like flying. For all talk about new ventures, new systems etc., if this much can go wrong on a ground based activity which has been planned for so very long, and had so very much money pumped into it (can you tell I haven’t looked up the figures?) I can’t help but wonder what goes wrong when they are keeping the big metal pigeons aloft.
