Quiz Question
Thursday 11th February
What’s worse?
1. The fact that a primary school has banned pupils from sending valentine’s cards due to the possibility of ‘rejection trauma’.
or
2. The fact that today’s instant media can turn a tiny little incident in a corner of Somerset into a national scandal?
What’s worse is that far more terrible things happen every day that never get reported because they are so ordinary.
On an average day 9 people are killed on the roads in the UK. Good luck finding all of them reported anywhere, even in the local rags.

Definitely 2. I would like a story that said “Headteacher encourages kids to have sex”, but that would never make the news.

I’m predicting, next year, head teachers will declare. “Stop sending your kids to school, since there is a possibility of ‘failure trauma’ when the kids get bad marks”.
Right I’m off to buy shares in all the cotton wool companies, I can see the share prices rise, the more and more we wrap the kids in the stuff.

They won’t get bad marks… they’ve made the exams so you get 80% just for turning up. And the more questions you get wrong, the higher mark you get.
They consider that the more intelligent children will be better at coping with getting a lower mark, so it’s much fairer.

To practice our penmanship, our teacher had the class write down everyone’s name on a piece of paper. Then we used the list to address our Valentine’s cards at home.
Everyone gave and received Valentine’s. Same as when it was your birthday. You brought enough treats to share with everyone in your class.
