Bell
Tuesday 13th May
I forgot to say… when we went to the bell foundry, a funny thing happened.
The chap was showing us all sorts of different bells in his introductory speech… and came up with one, saying “Can anyone tell me what sort of bell this is?”
“A cowbell”, we chorused.
“Hmmm…”, he said, nodding towards me… “I think this chap here will probably be able to tell us”
“I know!”, said I, “A GOAT bell”. But how did he know? Has he been following me on my travels? Or reading my blog?
Ah. It dawned… the “Childhood Goat Trauma Foundation” T-shirt that I was wearing.
Well-spotted, Mr. Bell-man.
When In Rome
Thursday 7th February
I am quite liberal. I have a ‘live and let live’ policy.
But when I see this, it concerns me…
The Archbishop of Canterbury says the adoption of certain aspects of Sharia law in the UK “seems unavoidable”.
Dr Rowan Williams told Radio 4’s World at One that the UK has to “face up to the fact” that some of its citizens do not relate to the British legal system.
I’m sorry… when you move to another country for all the benefits that country affords you, you must abide by their set of rules.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
This country really has gone completely wet.
I’d be interested to hear what others think. I’m hesitant about posting this for being branded a ‘racist’ or something similar, but it really isn’t about that. It’s about erosion of the British identity.
Yes, I know we’ve had invasions in the past, and what is a British identity? Part Celt, part Dane, part Saxon, part Norman… but I still think it’s a worrying development, going on under the radar that our secular system of law and order can be influenced heavily by a faith.
So… Muslims get to choose to abide by their own set of rules, while non-Muslims not only have to abide by the British rules, but also those imposed against our wills by Brussels.
Well… as long as they ban neither goats nor Thursday pub nights, I guess it’ll be ok.
Mmm… less than four hours to go…
LOOK!
Wednesday 23rd January
It’s a different goat in a different tub…

It’s been a while…
Tuesday 18th December
…in fact, I think it’s one year and a day since he last appeared…
It’s the goat in a tub.
Oooh… and following a discussion of the word ‘moot’, today I found out the Danish for moot point is åbent spørgsmål which I think is a wonderful looking phrase.
GOATS!
Wednesday 5th December
I’m not normally prone to the appreciation of product packaging… but Goats and Christmas on a single package! I could almost eschew cows’ milk just so I could buy some of this…

Junctions
Sunday 7th October
So, the DSA test centre is at the point marked A, and the second most horrible junction in the world is at the point marked B.

This first most horrible junction in the world, of course, being this little gem in Swindon:

And in other news… well, similar news… well… different news but still vaguely related to my bike lessons… on today’s lesson we stopped for a break at a farm shop and they had… GOATS! Yes GOATS! I saw a picture up, so I asked the lady and she was dead passionate about them - they’re her favourite pets, and her husband won’t let her have a pygmy goat because she’s already got two normal sized goats and I’m going to go back when I have some time and say hello to them because they are ACE! Woo for the GOATS!
Peak Buggling
Saturday 1st September
I’ll do the normal peak-bagging post later (with the google earth and profile gubbins)… but for now, the video evidence…
And then just for Plume, some goaty goodness… this is why goats are better than sheep…
Surprise!
Thursday 23rd August
Did the best thing in the world land on my doormat this morning?
Yes it did.
Go on then, Mr. Cleverclogs, tell us what that thing is.
I shall… it was this video…

Thanks Jan + Ned.
