Yes Sir, I can Boogie!
Friday 29th September
I think I was out until 3am this morning dancing to extremely loud techno music in the basement room of Bonnuh’s favourite venue in Loughborough. On a school night, too. I think it was fun. I’ve really only just come round.
Also, the freshers are here and I think I started collecting pictures of their T-shirts. The evidence was found on my camera…

Oh and the big-screen tellies in the pub weren’t doing so well…

So I guess it pays to always carry your camera if you’re going out for a night you erm… won’t remember much of.

I can just see the teller’s face when he presented his lone nice shiny 50p coin.

It’s interesting that they consider shipping your order to be a customer benefit. I would have called it part of the deal to be honest.

It’s a great idea - a device you connect to the hot-shoe of your camera and it logs the latitude, longitude and direction of every shot as you take it. It stores this information on an SD card so you can later correlate the location information with your photographs.
However, there’s no way I’m putting something that looks like this on the top of my camera. I think I’d rather just use a notebook and pen as normal.
What they need is a belt-pack gps and logger with an extension cable from the camera’s flash connector. The connector to use would probably be the external flash cable, rather than the hotshoe - you might need that for something like… oh, I don’t know… maybe a flash? I’m still not sure I’d be interested in buying one, though.
10% Photography
Monday 25th September
I never realised that running a photography business would involve only approximately 10% photography, possibly less. The rest of the time is spent chasing up - suppliers and customers, administrating, accounting, travelling, processing, marketing, promoting, emailing, the list goes on.
I expected some amount of all of the above, but didn’t realise that every single client would need chasing up. Well - I guess if I don’t want their business, then they don’t need chasing… I could have a very relaxed time indeed, but as a business model it’s not great.
That’s not to say I’m not enjoying it - I am, a great deal. And what’s more, when I’m in the office, I can’t get rained on, so that’s nice!
Erm…?

Astounding
Sunday 24th September
An astounding piece of engineering, and just as astounding puppetry. You may have seen this before - it’s from The Sultan’s Elephant, a three-day free show put on in London earlier this year.
